How many of you are still on Ubuntu 10.04 or Ubuntu 10.10? Which one is it if you still are? Any problems running these older releases or is everything the way it should be? Thanks.

Don't like staying with old or LTS releases.that's one of the many reasons i don't use windows.so no,I'm not:popcorn:

10.10...No problems here, except sometimes the usual reload the Nividia drivers crap...Other than that, smooth as silk. If support did not run out come spring,I could keep right on using 10.10.

I still run 10.10 on my acer netbook aspire one. everything runs fine. upgraded to 11.04 and 11.10 both and edge scrolling stopped working. I couldn't deal with it and couldn't find a fix. I switched back to 10.10. It doesn't support my card reader but that is much less annoying than the lack of edge scrolling. It didn't help that i don't really like Unity, but maybe i didn't give it a fair shot.

I run mythbuntu 11.10 on my htpc with no problems.

I'm still running 10.04.3 on my server and on my web dev box.

11.10 in a VM on my laptop tho.

Laptop running Debian 6 (10.04 code taken from here- almost the same experience).

Desktop running 10.04.3, and HTPC running XBMC Live-CD based on 10.04.

I've been using 10.04 since it was in beta, duel booting with Vista on a Dell XPS M1530. Works great, but I found that my Broadcom wireless works better with the newer Linux kernels. So, a few couple ago I repartioned the HD and am now booting 11.10, 10.04.3, Mint 12, and Vista.

Wireless connects much quicker and is much faster when I boot 11.10 and Mint 12, so right now I am booting these most of the time. If I'm hardwired to the Internet I prefer 10.04, especially when I stream video to my HDTV.

Nah too old. But nearly no one using Kubuntu with the K, uses old releases as ther performance of KDE gets better by version (except KDE3). The version that comes with 12.04 LTS KDE 4.8 aims to be faster than KDE 3. Can't wait for it.

I'm using 10.04 still, and I have since it was in Beta, with no reinstall and no issues, ever.
And I'll use it until support ends, and maybe a month or two longer.

After that, I'll probably go to Lubuntu, Debian/LXDE, or maybe Mint.

But since Lubuntu 12.04 isn't LTS, probably not Lubuntu.
And because the Debian people think free software is a religion or something, probably not Debian. (But kudos for all the work they do, nonetheless!) No offense, I just want my computer to work, and I don't want to be shunned by the Debian community just because I don't "get" the whole deal with Iceweasel.
So probably Mint next. (With MATE of course!)

I like stuff to work. Lucid Lynx works better for me than any release before or since. I'm also a huge fan of Gnome 2, and I'm of the opinion that Linux will never be popular if we keep re-shuffling the interface every 3 years.

I'm also not a Unity "Basher", I think it was a bad decision that still has some good potential, and if they can make it work, I'll still consider it. I see no need to muddy the water with mindless criticism.

12.04 having 5-year support is a good start, but why not for Lubuntu? It's the only one I still like.

Im on 10.10. Will upgrade to 12.04 in future. But little bit skeptical about UNITY.

Same here, 10.04.3 on my web development box, and 11.04 on my regular desktop.
When 12.04 approaches I'm going to move from plain vanilla Ubuntu to either Kubuntu,
one of the Mints or possibly Sabayon KDE...

I'll probably be moving to 12.04 when it comes out. Not sure tho, since I'm not sure if my RAID driver will compile on a 3.0 kernel. :(

Still using Ubuntu 10.04.3 on my laptop. 11.04 and 11.10 both don't work well, some issues to do with my ATI graphics card (which unfortunately I can't change since most laptop cards are integrated), I also don't like Unity and I especially don't like the lack of customization or support for older devices. I'm holding out for 12.04; hopefully they will have Unity stable enough for me to take it seriously by then.

I guess you rely on hardware raid then? For my web development box I have no need for raid. However, I'm setting up a server at home (for small projects that I don't want to bother the guy who is my primary host with), but I figure SSD + Cloudflare will be more than enough for my needs. (And I'll do 12.04 on my server unless I need to set it up before precise is launched...)

Aye, got a hardware RAID card. Too bad the drivers aren't in the kernel. :(

I use Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. It works, no need to upgrade. I'll continue to use it until its support cycle ends, then I'll probably find another distro as I am not impressed with Unity.

11.10 is too resource heavy for my old desktop, so im sticking with 10.04.

Upgraded one machine from 10.10 to 11.04 and it says the hardware is not suitable for Unity and runs like a dog so I will back it down to 10.10 when I can get it backup.
Since my 5 other machines are similar or older hardware I shan't bother upgrading them.

I am still on 10.04 having decided to adopt the LTS release schedule having gotten tired of upgrading every 6mo. I don't care about being on the leading edge provided everything works which it does.

I'm on 10.04 and 10.10. Both versions are running fine as far as I can see. Generally I don't feel the need to upgrade if I'm pleased with what I have and I don't yearn for Unity... I always allow for a bug fixing period for each new version so I seldom upgrade close to release (sometimes it's very tempting though!).

Probably when I get around to getting a new computer I'll put Ubuntu 12.x on it and wipe Unity for xmonad + install Windows 7 on it (for Civilization V).

I'm sort of close to being a LTS guy myself...

I tried Debian Squeeze and found out that my RAID drivers would compile (but not load). Works perfectly fine on Lucid, so I am crossing my fingers that it'll work on 12.04.

Very happy with 10.04 and will stick with that for the time being. Not a big fan of Unity at all, but I may well take a leap of faith with 12.04.

Still using ubuntu studio 10.10 (gnome 2), had first ever kernel crash the other day, was stupendous. K3b (disc burner) was producing disks that murdered my computer.

Hate Unity with a passion, luckily studio 11.10 is still gnome 2, may upgrade, may not. Broadcom wifi card works fine, upgrading is always opening a can of icky, wiggly, wifi-less worms. But 10.10 is not LTS, and 10.04 LTS is definitely a tried and tested wifi-less world, so perhaps an upgrade will be in order at some point.

I think 18 months is a long time in linux time, especially the last 18 months. Using something from that long ago isn't for me.

I was running 10.04 with Gnome until a few weeks ago. Absolutely rock solid and I loved it. But now I'm running 11.10 with xfce and couldn't be happier. It seems faster on my 6 year old Sony Vaio, yet gives me pretty much the same desktop experience.

:DHave 10.04 on my desktop and it runs great.

Occasionally I have trouble with the drop down windows and have to up the up,down, left and right keys. Had 2 graphic's crashes but they were associated with kernel updates ( running in low graphics mode) but the system's ok now-
