I'm using vnc4server in my computer. In my xstartup file I run:
gnome-session --session=ubuntu-2d &
In order to launch the 2D version of Unity. When I log in to my session I see no background image and theme is ugly. When I run gnome-settings-daemon it crashes. Here's its log
