kubuntu-desktop problems

I installed kubuntu-desktop package (sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop). And now, when computer boots, I feel like I have Kubuntu: blue grub, blue boot screen with kubuntu instead of purple ubuntu and then I see kubuntu login screen. In addition, I cant run programs which need authentication like synaptic and gparted from unity. How can I solve these problems?
