View Full Version : [SOLVED] how to install jdk-6u29-linux-i586.bin on ubuntu 11.10

i am absolute beginner in ubuntu and wants to transfer my development env from window to ubuntu 11.10 for java
i have downloaded jdk-6u29-linux-i586.bin from sun site
can somebody tell me entire steps of installation of above java version on ubuntu11.10
Also, tell me how to check which version of java means 32 bit or 64 bit version support can be checked in ubuntu?
i have seen various articles on the net but not for the ubuntu 11.10

please help me in this regards.

Near the top right of the thread, there is a red link labeled "Thread Tools". Click it and one of the options is "Mark this thread as solved".
