gedit annoying - anyone else?

Hey guys, the backup feature of gedit really annoying me when i upload my files all the dam backup files upload to my website as well, so i thought ok...i turned that off and put auto-save to every 5 minutes.

When i save, half the time it gives a huge annoying warning "cannot make backup file!" well DUH i turned it off...how stupid is that, you turn off a feature and then it keeps warning you!!

Anyway to stop that warning, or is there a better editor?

Have you tried bluefish?
It's pretty good for editing different types of files.

I much prefer bluefish, plus it looks good in my quick start ;)
