I think I must be getting geekier. Last night I dreamed that I was at some tech expo, where they were showing off Windows Vista on about a million computers. The people there said something like "Oh, and it's a bit unstable; if it crashes, then just take the CD there and reinstall it."

And, luckily, I had an Ubuntu CD in my pocket... *cue mass installfest*

What about you? Any Linux dreams?

I had a dream a few months back about Linux...
Microsoft was going bankrupt and Ubuntu had spread around the world like a wildfire.

Funny but these little guys like Dreamlinux and Yoper are doing a great job without alot of capital, and I couldn't resist do I have a dream about Linux...it just fit.

Seriously if anybody here likes to test out other Distros like I do, give it a go...keep in mind these little guys aren't bloated with politics so they actually can come out with things that the big guys will emulate in months.

It's good to see the future of Linux today.

Now about the real Dream:

Yes I had a Dream about Linux, Ubuntu to be exact. As the Team Leader of the "NU Ubuntu Team" (Northeastern United States of America Ubuntu Local Community Team)

I have been working on a concept of setting up a "NU Ubuntu Foundation" here in the USA. Which would do two things primarily:

1. Take donations of old Apple & Microsoft computers and convert them to Ubuntu then redistribute them to students, teachers, seniors and those in need.
The Foundation would provide full support.

2. To raise funds for the "NU Ubuntu Foundation" we would sale from a store high end boxes with Ubuntu.

....here comes the Dream...I dreamed of a beautiful desktop Ubuntu tower...amazing I drew out the design...my dream about Linux was this...Ubuntu stores that are run by a foundation (Apple with heart & soul)
Beautiful High end computers powered by Ubuntu, which gives back to the community to those in need.

LOL,

Yikes seems that I got away with my little joke, always worry since some people over react with the s word lol

Dream linux looks pretty cool I must say, very much a mac-esk type thing dare I even say clone, but not in a bad way they have a nice desktop.

My only linux dream would to be to see the pile of crap that is windows dead and burried and the people of the world free to turn on their pc's without having to pay for an O/s. Oh yea and DRM to go to hell...and burn. :)

I really don't know which words to use to express how sad and embarrassing this is. A dream.....about Linux. No wonder the average person hears linux and thinks "sweaty nerd D&D player afraid of girls".

I never had a dream about Linux yet but I had about IRC, when I was imagining myself playing trivia with my friends :)

Never an actual dream, I don't think...but a few years ago, when I'd been having some frustrating issues with linux, when I'd lie down to go to sleep, I'd see kernel compilation text output scrolling when I closed my eyes. Pretty annoying.

I dreamed about an Ubuntu with a good Compiz and XGL running (possibly AIGLX). Now my dream has been realized. I don't know what else I can say...

I use Linux-only, so when I have a dream involving a computer, it is naturally running a variant of Linux. Does that make me a sweaty DnD nerd?

Ha! :D

Funny, but I had a brief anxiety dream about installing 6.06 last night.

However, upon waking, I did a full install of 6.06, upgrades and about 95% of the stuff in Automatix -- all while "sweating in very fear" -- but it all went like clockwork!

Remarkable!

Lots of stuff left to doink around with -- like getting the audio players to work properly -- but for the most part everything look OK.

heh...not so long ago, I had a dream in wiki code...I was trying to solve a problem with templates in the UDSF (which lambert solved eventually!), and all I could dream about was alternate code implementations.....

Computer dreams are just weird... like once I dreamed about every computer in my school having BSODs + unbootable and there was mass panic.

yeah i had a dream about linux... or rather tux in particular...

my girlfriend was lying naked and fiddling with her hair as she always does... you see we were both lying there amidst endless fields of green with ocean breeze coming in... it was a gorgeous day under Monet skies... she had a baby gentoo penguin on her belly and was giggling like she always does.

what a nice dream. :-\"
