I picked up my carpet out of the woodpile where it had lain a few years and notice some roots had grown into the fibers. I scrubbed them off mostly along with some dirt with bleach and detergent.
They are mostly gone but some spots have tiny rootlets left where they grew thru the carpet loops.
Is there a chemical you can use to dissolve these rootlets?
The carpet came totally clean and I plan to use it to cover the boat flybridge around the controls and cabinets. Not to put it on the floor but the upper area of nasty treated plywood which always peels paint and always has been kind of ugly surface. Think like wall carpeting on some small vertical and flat surfaces.
