hi all,

iv'e been testing some desktop environment , and i came to the conclusion that they all sucks (kde gnome unity) except lxde and xfce (cause they are really fast and snappy), but the problem with the last two is that they don't have a search menu , for instance if i wanted to launch an application i'll need to go through the menu one by one to see where it is installed while in kde gnome or unity i can search and it will appear , is there are similar functions that i can install to lxde or xfce ???

thnx in advance .

yeah you can launch the application from alt+f2 command.
it will open the box and there type the app name to launch

ya i know that thnx , but i don't always know it's name .
sometimes when i install an app , in the menu bar it's name might contain space or it's name isn't what it's bin name , so this does much helps .

One word: Synapse
Bind it to a keystroke and fly!

It works with xfce, don't know about lxde, dont' see why not. It uses the Zeitgeist daemon which may take up space and memory but you can remove it.
