View Full Version : [ubuntu] Shutdown during upgrade to 11.10 :-/

After I upgraded to Ubuntu 11.10, I restarted it, and a few lines of text came up, the last being "Checking Battery State. [OK]"
It did nothing for a while, so I thought something was wrong and I clicked to shut down.

Then I saw more text come up saying it was halting some other stuff. I didn't even know it was doing anything.

I restarted it and now it's just a blank screen with the blinking cursor at the left, and "[OK]" at the right.

Did I royally mess up when I shut it down? If so, does anybody know what I can do now?

I have been spared this faith, but others have not
