Shoulders

I stand upon the shoulders,
Of those who've come before.
To lift my heavy boulders,
That life was forced to pour.
With each passing generation,
Men will freeze in place.
Helping me reach my destination,
Depending on how they're laid.
I stand on the shoulders of those,
Who have stood on shoulders,
Of men who've come before.
I keep climbing up those shoulders,
If those shoulders,
who have stood on shoulders,
Will take me higher than before.
I stand on shoulders of men,
Who have never climbed before.
They laid upon their face,
In hopes to give someone else,
Something more.
Upon all of these shoulders,
My heavy burden shared.
Soon I'll freeze right over,
And another soul,
My shoulders will (have to) bear.
