I recently bought a brand new HP Pavilion dv6. I proceeded to install ubuntu 9.10 on it, as it was the only CD I had in my house. The network drivers wouldn't work (which is a problem I've had with 9.10 before), so I used UNetbootIn to download and write 11.10 to a flash drive. I booted from the drive, and was presented with the UNetbootIn menu. I selected "Try Ubuntu Now", and the screen immediately went black, as if it wasn't even turned on. I waited for a few minutes, and I heard the familiar Ubunu sound, but the screen stayed dead. I'm guessing this is a driver problem, but how could I fix it without the screen?

You may have to press F6 Other options and choose one of those listed to see which one works.
