Do to a hardware failure I had to renistall 11.10 64 bit. I downloaded the latest iso. Everything installed but it doesn't boot. It stops in various stages. I can get into a terminal with crtl-alt f1. I'm running a nvidia graphics card. While in the terminal i installed the nividia drivers sudo apt-get install nvidia-current. That didn't fix my issue. Is there any logs i can look at to c what might be causing the hiccup??

In the boot menu select the uubntu entry but hit 'e', not Enter. (if you have only ubuntu and don't get a boot menu press Shift to show)
That will show the boot lines. In the line starting with linux, add nomodeset before quiet splash. Press Ctrl + B to boot.
If that worked, you might need to make it permanent, but lets see if it worked first.

If it was video driver related usually the nomodeset was allowing to boot. Maybe it's not video related or it's something else. Sorry, but nothing pops up in my mind right now.
