View Full Version : [kubuntu] unsupported graphic card in 11.10?

I got a message while upgrading to 11.10 that reported my graphics card, an Intel extreme card on an IBM motherboard, might not be supported by the upgrade. Is this true? How can I find out before committing to the upgrade that I might not see?

Or, how to upgrade a graphics card on the mother board? Plug a super one in the bus?

Thank you.

It seems that your graphic chips are covered by this package:

Thanks very much. I checked out the sites but could not understand how you determined that my graphics card is compatible with 11.10. Almost got it, but not.
I think(hope) Ive attached the info on my card to be sure.

Im not going to be able to say for sure what will happen, but to me, it looks like unity-2d will fly.

If you want to be 100% sure, I would say burn a live cd and try it first.

I didn't...just went straight ahead on an alternate machine, it worked and then it worked on my main machine.

Thanks,
