Make animation in Ubuntu?

I need to do some stupid video advertisement for my University for one class (a project for that class)

And since I only using Linux....... I am wondering what could I use...

'sinfyg studio' or.. if that feels a bit advanced to your need, try out 'pencil'

Pencil seems interesting! Is it possible to import .eps files? I make .eps files in matlab and like to make a movie of them (with the abbility to add things to it). Cant find a good answer, only that vector based graphics are possible.

I only did a little bit of experiment with pencil, so don't know if it would or not. try out!
