Hey everyone!

I hope and pray you are having a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving.

To better explain the subject line:
While I am in the xfce4-terminal, if I press the s key, a new tab opens up every time the s key is pressed.

I have not found any other weird behavior.

If I am in other applications, e.g. Firefox, Thunderbird, everything is OK. I can press the s key and an s will appear, not some other action.

I have recently reinstalled Xubuntu 10.10 without issues.

Any help in diagnosing would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you and God bless,
Johnathan

That's odd. You might try going to Edit > Preferences, then click on the "Shortcuts" tab the Terminal Preferences box. The "Open Tab" is the first keyboard shortcut in the list and should be "<Shift><Control>t" you could check to make sure this hasn't got changed to "s" somehow as this would result in exactly the behaviour you describe.

@beesthorpe,

Thank you so much!

Well I don't remember ever using the Shortcuts tab... it was configured with 's' only. I have changes it back as suggested.

Weird though... I have never used that tab... I must have during some other edit or something.

Thank you, Happy Thanksgiving and God bless,
Johnathan
