How to create custom Login Screen (Ocelot)

I wish to create a custom login screen for Ubuntu 11.10. I understand that you can create a new background / color for it, but I want the entire interface to be changed. If I make a design in Photoshop, how would I create the text boxes and buttons, etc. Or am I insane for even asking such a thing be done? :D
