I have the following device on which I want to install a lite version of Ubuntu:

EPC-1026D (http://www.limingzh.com/en/displayproduct.html?proID=100655402)

How do I go about attempting to do this? It doesn't appear to allow me to boot from USB or CD.

I don't think Ubuntu would fit; the specs are probably too small even for Lubuntu (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Lubuntu).

AFAIK, Ubuntu can only be booted from USB or CD. You would have to find out how to get into the BIOS to allow booting from USB. Try pressing and holding F12 when you boot the machine from a cold start; if you're lucky, it will display a menu allowing you to choose where to boot from.

Alas there just doesn't seem to be any way to access the bios

I see the F12 key doesn't work for you. Try the following keys to see which one does work: F2; F8; Delete. Those are the ones that I've come across before.

Your manual should tell you how, unless it has been disabled.
