Lubuntu's window manager is openbox, which lacks a GUI for binding keys to stuff;
click on above link to download a tarball. (With Oneric, Dont worry about PyGTK bindings)

after unpacking the tarball you will need to run it from the terminal.
Go to the directory where you unpacked, type

./obkey ~/.config/openbox/lubuntu-rc.xml Enjoy

P.S. obkey has no help file, no nothing

What a great app! Thanks marinara!

This is just what I was looking for to solve a keyboard layout switching problem (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=11496672#post11496672). I should cross-reference that thread to this one.

The only oddity was that I couldn't assign the "setxkbmap gb" (for example) command to SHIFT-ALT-1 (= ALT-!) for some reason. But as soon as I used CTL-ALT-1, it worked great.

Thanks again!
