Hi everyone,
I can't install or boot into livecd of x64 Ubuntu on my PC, regardless of version. I also cannot install LinuxMint - the installer stops in console with an sbin/modprobe -bv pci : abnormal exit with status 0x0009 message as the last line.
32-bit install is fine.
From searching around the net, this seems like it's an issue with the fact that my laptop has an integrated (Intel HD3000) and a discrete graphics card (Nvidia GT555m), but I'm not 100% sure.
Any ideas on what to do? I can't force the PC to use only one GPU through BIOS, unfortunately.
Thanks!
This is extremely important to me as I bought this PC to do some light bioinformatics work - most of the tools are written for linux and require more than 3.2GB of RAM to do anything meaningful.
