No prnter options in Ubuntu 11.10?

Does anyone know how to get a printer installed on this version of Ubuntu? I go into the printers and I get a black screen. I want to add both network printers. All updates have been installed. I'm using the gnome shell if that helps anything.

Okay, so I just realized you have now unlock this stupid window just to add a printer. But, now I got this other problem. Something about a firewall setting that needs to be on and I can't find the darn thing...way to go, keep hiding things...ahhhh...and yes I also tried checking that box and still nothing.

It looks like I found the cryptic workaround for this. "Alt+F2, type system-config-printer and press Enter" WOW
