Icon smilies or emoticons

Hi All

I don't know if my title is correct or what the thing I am looking for is called.

There used to be an option in older Ubuntu versions on right click on a file or folder where you could add an emoticon type of flag to you folder or file. I remember there were music notes, video film pictures, green ticks and red crosses. They were helpful in flagging different files and folders.

Were these specific to Gnome in older versions or is there a package I need to install. I hope this question is understandable and not too vague.

I am using Ubuntu 11.10 - unity.
