Hi,

I have very annoying problem,
Sometimes my hard-drives led blinking crazy and I can not do anything even can not start the task manager to look which process causing the problem I can just move the mouse a bit and try to click something but it is very slow and almost nothing is working at that time. It takes like 15 min and then turns to normal.

What could cause the problem? Whant can meke the harddrive so bussy?

Thank you,
Taner.

You can have the System Monitor open on the tab Resources to check what is happening. You can check the Processes as well to find which application is using the system.

I've renamed your thread in the hope that it might attract some more ideas for solving your support questions.

I've noticed on my laptop that sometimes Update Manager causes some disk activity, but that's usually over with fairly quickly.

I have a similar problem. It may be related to this... (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/131094) - note the most recent posts blaming swap partition activity. :(
