Error opening display settings after upgrade to 11.10

Hello,

I just upgraded to Ubuntu 11.10 and installed xubuntu-desktop.
Everything is working fine -- except I cannot open the Display settings. I get the error message:


Unable to start the Xfce Display Settings
Unable to query the version of the RandR extension being used

I'm running with 2 monitors plugged in. Currently both are showing exactly the same (which is what I want to change). This 2 monitor setup worked fine before the upgrade.
