My problem relates to Firefox and is not specifically about Ubuntu. I have developed a web page, and on it I have a couple of images. I positioned them using top, left, right, into the corners, and then set the height at 100% in order to have the images as sidebars. Now the page is acting the way I expected on all the browsers I've tried it on except Firefox. Firefox seems to be ignoring the height parameter in the css, consequently the images are way out of the desired proportion. The craziest thing is, that when I view the web page on my local computer using Firefox, it displays correctly! Only when uploaded to the server and viewed online does this problem occur. Any suggestions are very welcome.

Well, the problem has now resolved itself. I'm not sure exactly how. Just on a whim I cleared my entire browsing history on Firefox. I wonder if somehow there was contamination between the local files and the remote ones. Puzzling.
