Hi,

Please help.
I was having problems with my audio driver and decided to upgrade to see if I could solve them (which I finally couldn't).
Now I have no internet connection on my laptop! No wireless and no wired!
What can I do ? I have searched google and forum and found no answer :/
Maybe you guys need some infos, but which ones?
There is another pc (this one i'm on now) which is connected to the same router.
Btw, on the laptop there is no "Auto Ethernet" on the network manager.
I won't be able to work tomorrow if I have no connection :/ Afraid I'll have to backup my files and install windows or something, which I really don't want to do.
Thanks a lot for any help.

You can always boot the laptop with the ubuntu cd, copy the data you need to an external disk, and make a new clean install of ubuntu on it.

It is very weird for the wired connection not to work. Something must have gone really wrong during the upgrade. Otherwise wired connections work in most cases, even if wireless sometimes don't.

I'm not sure if it's easy to add the network manager without any internet connection or if it's just easier to backup the data and make a clean install.

how could an upgrade do this ?
btw, now it says no network device found ://
seems my attempt to change some packages on synaptic only got it worse:popcorn:
