If loveseat is a 2-seater and a sofa is 3-seater, what do you call a furniture for one person?

A chair? When I visualize a chair, I imagine a hard wooden seat, not a well-padded soft "lazy-boy"-type of recliner for one. I guess I have to expand my understanding of a "chair." :)

I love my La-Z-Boy recliner..

I use to lounge in a giant papasan chair with my notebook in hand. My wife decided it had to go. I was sad.
Then my sorrow turned to joy as I received a La-Z-Boy couch. It is 2 seats, but wide and deep; plenty of room to stretch out and work on my notebook. I jokingly call it my "office."

You can not go wrong with La-Z-Boy, especially if your mate has had enough of futons and papasans :D

Presumably, not all at the same time.

It can be done with the correct architecture and furniture placement.

If loveseat is a 2-seater then a 1-seater must be an inflatable. :-\"

If i understand, the op meant a single seater couch. The chaise longue needs to have the resting for your legs... And is coming from this:

Any one-seater uses the blanket term used describe all other chairs, because there is no one-term to describe that, yet.

But again, this depends on the type of one-seater we're talking about, Like above, a recliner that's usually found in those epic psychiatrist places are one-seat couches, since they can actually seat more than one person, just, they aren't designed to.

A recliner is just that though, it allows you to "decline" I guess, into a suitable position that allows one to rest / sleep easier than if they were sitting upright or on a couch that's designed for more than one person
