I have Ubuntu 11.10. I need my terminals and files to be re-opened on startup, but I can't find any 'sessions' window anywhere.

Does anyone know how to enable persistent sessions?

Poking around, I'm finding that the feature is supposed to be handled in Startup Applications in Gnome 3. Obviously, it's not there, and I can't find any real documentation on the feature. I don't know whether it's presently implemented at all.

I ran into this bug (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=647359) against the feature, but neither the option in Startup Applications nor the folder in .config exist for me, and the bug was filed on a very, very early version of Gnome 3.
