Hi, I am trying to "activate" or "uncover" the Firefox App Store in Ubuntu Firefox. Would you have any advice for me? Thanks so much.

Hi, rykel.

Do you want to add an addon?

Click

tools>addons>get addons

You can search, for what you would like, there.

I suppose the OP is talking about the experimental Mozilla Open App Store.

You can also type about:addons in the address bar.

You are welcome. The idea is really great, but I don't think it is functional by now. I remember they released a testing app just to see how it would work, but is not fully implemented.

On second though, I think the OP is actually asking about the addons manager like you mentioned.

@lovinglinux - You are right, I was talking about this experimental App Store... Google Chrome has it for some time now and you can install Angry Birds plus many other cool, HTML5(?) apps there.

I looked at the link you gave, but could not figure out how to "activate" it in Ubuntu Firefox.

I don't think you need to activate anything, since it works with any browser.

Try the demos at https://apps.mozillalabs.com/appdir/

I am curious why Mozilla is only "demo" apps. I have a Chinese language Windows 7 with Firefox that already has an App Store with icons for famous China sites such as Baidu and Sina.

Is it accessible through Firefox menu or do you need to type the url?
