I installed 32-bit 11.10 and cannot get sound out of the installed nVidia MCP67 High Def Audio card. I have installed the driver indicated in system settings-hardware-additional drivers but it doesn't help. Also, when I go into sound settings-hardware, I don't see a device listed, so it seems like the system isn't recognizing the installed card. I have looked on the forum but haven't seen anything helpful for what looks like a common problem. Any suggestions?

Looks like there was a bug report last year (#303672) for this issue that was marked incomplete. I indicated that it should be reopened in this release. I've tried a lot of the fixes that I found elsewhere, but nothing has worked so far.
