View Full Version : Virtual Orrery on Ubuntu?

Hi all,

I am looking for a 'virtual orrery' to run on Ubuntu. Can anyone advise?
It would be useful to to show a plan view of the Solar system in the current time and a 3-D view would be great.
I need to try to explain to my people why the moon is seen, currently, to be close to Jupiter and how that changes in days and months.

Many thanks for any suggestions,
- jon.

You can try Celestia. It allows you to navigate around a 3d model, set time, change perspective, zoom, etc. It should allow you to do what you want.
