help me remember this manga film

there was this anime I once saw, It looked quite old maybe from the 80's I think. a young man lost his wife, a short bearded scientist offered to put her body in a machine that would revive her after some years. When she couldn't be revived he tried killing himself only to find he's immortal, a curse. He wonders the earth alone for millions of years until finally an angel comes to him and takes him.

It's an emotional story and I want the name because I badly want to see it again but I don't remember the name. Help
