Dear all,

In recent days I have been experimenting with desktop environment, as I came to believe that with my system Unity caused resource problems.

I installed LXDE from the Ubuntu Software Centre and also xubuntu-desktop and lubuntu-desktop from the command line.

With reference to the login screen and the session selection menu, I want to remove all except the Gnome, Unity and Lubuntu entries. Also, I want to remove all desktop environment files not related to such desktop environments. In other words, I want a system which allows me to login to Gnome and Unity and also Lubuntu.

I don't know, so I'd like some directions / links.

I hope someone can help.

Regards,
Ederico.

P.S. Also, after installing xubuntu-desktop I got a xubuntu splash screen. I want to remove this, sudo apt-get remove xubuntu-desktop didn't work for that.
