On one of my PCs, I have upgraded to 11.10 yet my Update Manager, not always but often enough says that an Upgrade is available to 11.10....

Something is wrong. Any advise please?

OK, solved this by just accepting it was not upgraded. It was but as it was obviously not happy, I just went with the flow.
