Dual screen problems in Unity

I have just hooked up my netbook to a second monitor when using unity 2D (because of resolution limits in unity 3D) on 11.10 and noticed a few problems when using it as two separate displays.

I seem to have lost the menu bar at the top of my netbook screen, but not on my external monitor. This means any program which I maximise on my netbook screen I can't un-maximise or minimise. The menu bar is still present on my external monitor and everything works fine there. It also means I can't move any program which starts maximised on my netbook screen onto my external monitor, which is very annoying.
This seems like a strange bug.
Where do I go to report bugs like this? and has anyone else spotted this problem?

hi Bez654, I have the same problem with my set up using a laptop and a external monitor in unity 2d, also the laptop has black bars down both sides. When I start up tomorrow I will try it in Gnome and see what happens.
