Virtualbox from synaptic in 10.04

Am i restricted to what is available in synaptic or can I download later
version. If this later version can be used please advise how to install.
4.1.4.6 I know its basic, but I have extracted and still confused. Please advise

I don't use the version from the repositories, but I download the .deb file from: https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Linux_Downloads

You can just install it through your regular package manager. The current version is 4.1.6 :)
