When i am trying to install VirtualBox on Ubintu 10.04 either by synaptic manager or terminal, it start for some time and then stopped with message
Media change: please insert the disc labeled
'Ubuntu 10.04.3 LTS _Lucid Lynx_ - Release i386 (20110720.1)'
in the drive '/cdrom/' and press enter

Then i tried to mount the iso of ubuntu 10.04 using Gmount-iso but still the message keep comming. Any workaround?

Open software sources - untick the box for the cdrom.

Reload and you should be all set.

+1

Also the one in the repos will be out of date.

Download the latest here for your version

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/virtualbox/downloads/index.html

it is currently 4.1.6

along with the extensions pack
