I recently upgraded my system to Ubuntu 11.10 and since the upgrade any application that involves audio or video is very jerky and unusable. Videos will speed up, slow down, stop for a second and the audio is stop and go also. This will happen with a web browser on YouTube or with audio playing on Amorak or similar apps. I have gone through the troubleshooting steps and that did not help. Using an NVIDIA GeForce 8400 and updating the driver did not help. I am at a loss.
