I put my CR-48 up on craigslist the other day and I got an offer for a trade.

Specifications
Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU T5750
4GB DDR2 Ram
200GB Hard Drive
15.4" Wide Screen WSXGA+ Matte LCD
512MB NVIDA 8600GT GPU
2 Megapixel Camera
Dimensions 14"X10.1"X1.4"

I'll assume you know the specs for the CR-48. The whole ChromeOS thing sort of appeals to me, but the CR-48 has many bugs, specifically with maintaining an internet connection.

I may just end up selling the "custom laptop" in the end anyways. What do you think? Is it worth the trade?

In terms of specifications, it's a fine trade, if what you want is a heavy inelegant "notebook" with a decent amount of grunt and storage.

If that sort of machine is not what you're after, then it's not the kind of trade you should be making, and it might be worth selling the CR-48 and using the proceeds to buy an ultrabook or something else that you DO want.

You're right. I've decided not to trade, and rather make an attempt at running Ubuntu on the CR-48. I'm not sure if Ubuntu would run smoothly, but if not, I'll sell it :)

The last thing I need is another laptop, unless its thinner and lighter.
