Python isn't really something you would run in the browser, So there's no need for someone to make it do that - But I believe Ubuntu comes with Python (Some Things are required on it).
Try googling for some Python tutorials and you're bound to find some good ones.

Also, Install IDLE or some other IDE/etc.
