Login screen overlay over xfce desktop

I installed xfce on my ubuntu machine and in the login screen after selecting xfce i see the icons on the desktop flashing but the overlay of the login screen doesn't disappeared.

I really wanted to try xfce but its impossible at this time.

Any ideas?
