I would like to be able to upgrade my system from 11.04 to 11.10, but during my last upgrade, my MBR was overwritten improperly - this is not where GRUB resides on my computer. I would like to perform the upgrade without overwriting the MBR. It seems like a simple enough request, but how is it done?
