Sorry everybody, I have typed my HP printer incorrectly in a previous thread !!!!!!!!.

To start again, here is my original problem.

Hi, I am very new to Ubuntu, having played around a little with 10.04 and have finally ditched windows 7.

I have a problem with a HP1018 printer. It worked under 10.04 but I am getting the error message from the HP plug in.

"Plug in file does not match it's digital signature. File may have been corrupted or altered. Error code 2".

It is a clean install, not an upgrade from earlier versions.

Could anybody please help me.

It seems that the server from which the plugin has to be installed is down.

The plugin can still be found on various sites on the Internet. You need to search for "hplip-3.11.7-plugin.tar" archive (containing "hplip-3.11.7-plugin.run" and "hplip-3.11.7-plugin.run.asc").

After downloading the archive, extract the files and install the plugin from downloaded files.
