View Full Version : [ubuntu] chge command: I want to disable the expire function

This is actually a debian question, but I assume it applies equally to Ubuntu. I created a server to play with once in a while as I learn the command line. A while back, it wanted me to give it a new password, I gave it the same password and I don't remember it objecting. And I returned to the server last week and discovered it had locked me out! Ha!

I need to re-install it anyway, and I have been trying to figure out how to use the chage command to just disable this time out function, but looking at the info and man pages I don't see anything that seems to do this. Do I give it a future date that is 100 years from now or something?
