After completing all the more important tasks after a new ubuntu 11.10 install, I got to the printing issue.
I was able to add a network (smb://) printer just fine, selected the correct driver and so on.
But I fail to print.
When I try I get a dialogue asking for username and password. Does it want the Linux username & password, or the samba server username & password?
Regardless (I tried both), it looks like the print job was sent, and then nothing. No printing.
Any log files I should check for errors?
Any way to debug this?
BTW, I saw that there should be some printers applet, but I have no idea where is it, or what I need to install in order to get it in the system-settings.
