I've switched my ubuntu natty laptop to kubuntu. I've also upgraded to oneiric. Is there any way to remove everything except for the default kubuntu oneiric packages and files?

This is how to get pure KDE under 11.04. If you have pure KDE than only KDE will be upgraded and after an upgrade you will get pure KDE 11.10.

Having said that, upgrades are not always successful, so you should backup all important data from the HDD and be prepared to just do a clean install of Kubuntu 11.10.

careful there, it's best just to backup home and install kubuntu from scratch..

the upgrading is fine and all, but i think you'll avoid it in the future once you see how easy it is to backup a simple directory and waiting 10 minutes for kubuntu to install:P
