I have a Lenovo Thinkpad Edge 13". I bought it because it was the cheapest laptop I could get with a trackpoint. The only problem is that when i use the trackpoint, my hand naturally rests on the trackpad, which often interfers with the mouse sending it in unexpected places. I was therefore wondering if there is some way I can disable the trackpad so that only the trackpoint will move the mouse. I tried looking through the system settings but the only option I found involved disabling the trackpad while typing, which doesn't really help. Any way I can permanently disable the trackpad?

I'm using Ubuntu 11.10.
