Anybody taken the exam lately that can give an idea of how tough it actually is and what types of questions you got?

Got the Security+ exam coming up and then the Linux Exams after that..

The security + Exam is fairly straight forward, short-ish questions with multiple choice answers.

Study your material, like anything else and you should be fine.

It covers multiple domains, you can check the areas of study at the CompTIA + site.

There is no one area of it to study, you need Telecoms to Network Inf to Cryptography (know your symettric/asymetric, DES,RCA, SHA ad nauseum ad infinitum all the way to physical security and fire suppression technologies ;-)

As for Linux +, there is 2 exams, and when you take them if you tick the box you will also be awarded LPI level 1 and Novell certified Linux Administrator.

Not many people are aware of this, so you get 3 certs for the price of 1 as it were.

Good luck

Thanks!

On the Linux Exams I heard that you had to take it at a Pearson testing center to get the option for all 3 certs is that true?

yeah, not sure if you get the option at VUE, but yeah you get it at pearson. There is no difference other than the geo proximity of a centre to where you are, no difference in exam
