Hi,

I've got an old eMachines 3230 PC. It's currently running XP but I would like to have something a bit more up to date.

These are the specs:

Pentium 4 Processor
256MB RAM (I could upgrade that to up to 2GB)
80GB HDD
Belkin Wireless N Dongle
MSI MS-6714 Motherboard
Intel 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller

Would this computer be able to run Ubuntu or would it need something more lightweight such as Lubuntu or Xubuntu?

Thanks in advance!

lubuntu would be a safe bet. With more RAM, maybe a gnome interface.

Thanks for your help,

I think I'll try a couple of live CDs in it first and see how I get on.
