View Full Version : [SOLVED] 10.10 - Firefox 3.6.23 - still running after exit

I temporarily went back to 10.10 and in so doing have encountered a problem I never had - even when I first installed 10.10 last year.

For some reason, when I exit Firefox it closes the window(s), etc., but the firefox-bin process still runs, which stops me from starting Firefox again until I go in with terminal and kill it.

None of the updates the have run since I went back to 10.10 have made any difference on this as well.

If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
Dave ;)

It is happening to me too in 10.04, same FF version.

It doesn't happen every time, but very often. 3 out of 5, if I have to guess.

I have heard that this has become a common problem with multiple versions of Ubuntu.
What version of Ubuntu were you using before you went back to 10.10?

In Firefox, went to about:config, then changed the dom.ipc.* options to false. This seems to have solved this problem. Since flash was also one of those options I was hoping it would solve the flash problems as well, but no luck.
