I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why I can't get this to work. Honestly, I don't even care about the nVidia card at all... If I can get permanent discreet graphics in Ubuntu, I would be one happy customer..
I have tried, based off of This Link (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HybridGraphics)
sudo grep -i switcheroo /boot/config-3.0.0-12-generic
CONFIG_VGA_SWITCHEROO=y
However, the following does not exist...
ls -l /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch
ergo, I can't go through with any of the scripts, as they fail....
Now what do I do?

I need to read this thread when I have more brain power than a drunken mouse, but that's what 1:30am will do to you...

This guy, from what I've skimmed, had the same issue, black-listed his radeon driver, and then had rc.local reload it at boot time.
The real issue though, is where the hell is my switch file? vga_switcheroo is enabled and active, according to my boot config... I'm trying really hard to avoid bumblebee and ironhide...
/baffled. Will get back to this tomorrow when I'm properly rested and caffeinated.

hmmm....not sure how I missed that. So basically, blacklist nividia and update-initramfs -u -k all?
